Personal Goal

I have accrued 1000+ hours of teaching yoga and am now officially (according to Yoga Alliance) an Experienced yoga teacher, E-RYT.

It’s a very subtle shift in title but it feels like quite the accomplishment and I am allowing myself to stop and celebrate.

February 2018 was when I taught my very first 60 minute class all by myself- it was a yoga sculpt at Corepower yoga in Atlanta.

That same year I was a student in two other trainings and a coach in another AND part time studio assistant manager. All while continuing to work my regular 40 hour a week job. I was burning myself out but, I was so passionate about teaching.

After a few months of building up the courage, I took a leap of faith for myself and quit my job to teach full time in my home state of Florida.

I began 2019 teaching in St. Petersburg. A few months later I was packing my bags for a multiple month solo journey to PNW and across the border to British Columbia. I lived and taught at a white water rafting and yoga resort two hours east of Vancouver.

I came back home for the summer where I continued to teach (so grateful to have found places that welcomed me back and kept my schedule available) before heading back out on my own to Costa Rica.

Here I lived and taught at Sustainable Eco Lodge near La Fortuna. I was not only challenged with language barriers (one class had 7 different first languages spoken) but I was presented with the opportunity to adapt to my surroundings and slow my pace. Plus, I got to help out on the farm and learn about organic farming- which is really hard work.

This past year I have remained in one place but, it has certainly not been boring. I explored the virtual space; teaching live classes, creating recorded ones, and even organizing a week long online wellness program. I also had the opportunity to be involved in the process of opening a brand new yoga community in Safety Harbor!

As I look back at some of these photos I think about how far I have come since I began, how many people I have connected with along the way, and how much I have grown as a person.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in & encouraged me along the way.
